CONCORD — Note Politico’s Ben Smith account of a Saturday Clinton event at which she took questions for 1 hour 50 minutes. This is astounding, especially for a campaign that was so tightly controlled in Iowa, as well as New Hampshire, before this weekend.
As Smith and others note, she’s great at this format because there’s just no issue she doesn’t have down cold. And, it’s the type of format that New Hampshire, from my previous experience here, LOVES. They’ll be swooning about these events in the papers, on talk radio and word of mouth.
But is it too late? It’s not as if Obama isn’t winning crowds over himself. Maybe she should have done this a bit more in Iowa.
