LAS VEGAS — One of the men charged as an accomplice in the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case has been released from jail on house arrest.

Jail records show Michael McClinton is no longer being held at the Clark County Detention Center. It was not clear when he was released. His lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment on Saturday.

McClinton is one of five men accused of bursting into a Las Vegas casino hotel room with Simpson on Sept. 13 and seizing autographed footballs and other items at gunpoint from two memorabilia dealers.

Simpson claims most of the items are his. He was arrested Sept. 16 after a collector reported a group of armed men charged into a hotel room at the Palace Station casino and took several items. He faces several charges, including kidnapping, robbery with use of a deadly weapon and burglary. He was released after three days in jail.

Police said a search of McClinton’s Las Vegas home turned up two handguns, a suit that matched one worn by a suspect, and a concealed weapons permit in McClinton’s name.
