More than a decade after he was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, former football star O.J. Simpson again faces the possibility of spending the rest of his life in jail. Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas Sunday after allegedly robbing sports memorabilia collectors with armed accomplices last Thursday night at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. Simpson, 60, was arrested at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Palms, where he was staying this weekend when he was in town for a wedding. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and will be held without bail on two charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm. The charges carry a maximum penalty of nearly 100 years in prison. An arraignment was set for 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. The bizarre incident comes just days after the release of Simpson’s book: If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer.

Las Vegas police provided details Monday of Simpson’s conditions inside Clark County Detention Center (and included this photo), where he is being held until an arraignment hearing Wednesday morning. Police have classified Simpson, who they say has been cooperative, as a Protective Custody/Isolation inmate and have isolated him from the other 3,000 prisoners. Simpson’s cell is a 7′ x 14′ room, consisting of a bunk, toilet, sink and small desk. He is allowed three to four hours of free time spent alone each day. Inmates are allowed a total of two books/magazines and up to five religious books. The former NFL star has only requested reading glasses, which were provided for him. He has had five attorney visits, three from private attorneys and two from the Public Defenders office. Simpson will be served three meals a day at 4 a.m., 10 a.m., and a 4 p.m. dinner consisting of Enchilada Casserole, Spanish rice, garden salad with dressing, two slices of bread, margarine, marble cake and a fruit drink. Thus the question everyone will ask: Will it be orange juice?
